It also aids in cell regeneration (supporting your bones and joints) and is reputed to improve your skin.
The 'phantom' is essentially caused by inclusions or fractures along the natural growth lines of the Amethyst. In a lot of cases, it is visible as the inclusions are coloured, usually by iron staining.
